During the months of April & May is when the mullet travel up the coast. When you sight the hairy grubs travelling along in long lines it means that the mullet are travelling. The longer the line of grubs the bigger the sea of mullet.
We grew up fishing and eating mullet, sometimes using it for bait to catch flathead. Mullet cooked on the bbq with some white bread was our favourite and still is today.
