I have such strong memories of fishing in Wallis Lake with my Grandmother, Aunty and Mother. We would anchor the boat in front of the Little Street Bars and get out our hand lines. We would use white bread to catch the mullet then use the mullet to catch the flathead. Fish were in such abundance in those days, we would reel in so many, enough to feed the whole family. Afterwards, we would sit and eat fresh oysters on the leftover bread and swim on the Island.
